| Judy and I thank you all for coming, and,
believe it or not, smaller IS better! We only had about 100 boats this
year, as opposed to almost 140 last year. As a result, we got more
opportunity to visit with you, and it was easier to move around in the
hall, and just more comfortable. Having said that, we REALLY missed a
few boats that were not in attendance, like Destiny, Salty Paws, and of
course L/C Integrity(!), Diva, Kokomo, and others... We need to thank Shenandoah, The Viking Rose, Hananiah, No Agenda, and most of all, Dyad and "Dave's Army", and others, and some of the same, most significantly Sunspot Baby, and Blackfoot, Salty Paws, Integrity..... for help in past years And, Mimi, thanks (as always) for the flowers! Judy is changing the water and trying to make them last; you know, of course, that she LOVES flowers. Thank you. Also, we need to thank Smithfields of New Bern for a wonderful dinner, and excellent and courteous service; they always come through for us! Also, we thank the Eastern Carolina Council of Government for allowing us to borrow their projection equipment.....a million thanks. And to John Galog, of beautiful downtown Dover, NC, our thanks for the audio equipment. To all of our donors, whom we listed on a page in your welcome kit, we thank you very much, and many thanks from all the people who won door prizes. A few donors have stood out, through the years, like BoatUS, West Marine, Zippo/Case Cutlery, Mitchell Hardware by giving significant prizes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.... On a final note, we are "in negotiation" with an apparent consortium of local cruisers who are considering picking up the pieces of the New Bern Southbound Cruisers' Rendezvous, and carrying it forward. We hope they decide to do it, and to them go the NBSCR "billboard" signs, the wireless microphone, all of our accumulated database(s) of info necessary to run the event, along with our friendly cooperation! Keep checking right here; we will let you know, as soon as we know, and introduce them to you here.
